Fritz–Steinhoff Comprehensive School is a secondary school located in Hagen, North Rhine Westphalia (at the southern rim of the so called "Ruhrgebiet"). It was founded in 1975, and today has got around 1.400 pupils and 110 people in staff. It offers all kinds of examination, up to the diploma from German secondary school qualifying for university admission (A–levels). Fritz Steinhoff Comprehensive focuses on the use of new media in class; 250 personal computers are available for the pupils. English, French and Italian are taught as foreign languages. Another focus lies on the co–operation of parents at school. Approximately 80 parents work during the lunch–break, assisted by two social workers. Beginning with the next school year, Fritz–Steinhoff Comprehensive is one of the first schools in Germany teaching lessons in 60–minute units. |
